Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

Just updated again, can still confirm sleep issues!!!! Going back to hibernate setting.

Anyone know how we can get some resolve to this? Anyone contact the FTC yet? Let's get a petition going ASAP!!!!

    No resolve yet MICRO$OFT ???

Or you can just call them for a replacement and move on with your life...

That's great! In my experience, though, the real test will be to see if it's still working after the next hardware update. With all of the past firmware updates, by spending countless hours over the course of a few weeks fiddling and finagling with the drivers, settings, etc., I usually can get my surface into a pretty reliable state. As soon as a hardware update or major Windows 10 update comes along, though, I start getting wake from sleep and hot-bag issues again. Unfortunately, it appears that it's never the same thing that fixes it twice, so I always have to start back from square one.

My advice? If these hardware updates are working for you then don't update your drivers or your Windows build again until everyone on this forum confirms that the problem has been completely fixed. Otherwise, you might find yourself back in the same spot as the rest of us.

Incidentally, it's this kind of "never upgrade or things might break" philosophy that turned me off to having Linux installed as dual-boot in the past (it now happily lives on a VM), I'm sorry to see that Windows is getting infected with this kind of thing too.

My machine is still waking from sleep everytime.

I haven't had the sleep issue at all since.

I thought it had come back one time, and held my breath, but it was just taking longer than normal to resume from sleep that one time.

Crossing my fingers as many have said they tried this before and it didn't work.

    But so far so good.

Ditto.  I was highly skeptical as I use my SP4 for work and it was constantly freezing between meetings.  It's been fine now since the update,
