Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    Don't bother with today's driver updates for testing sleep, same old story, doesn't work! Back to hibernation and hopefully the Microsoft Store on Saturday to return this thing before I throw it across the effin room.

    Ahhh. Driver day is always like old fashioned European Christmas. Waiting breathlessly to see if Santa will come, or if I'll get visited by the Krampus instead. Based off of my experience with driver day so far, I won't be leaving out milk and cookies...

    Another Boatload of Drivers coming down from Windows Update folks. Prepare to be teased and then disappointed yet again!!!

    Because we know that the replacement is guaranteed to not have the problem right?  We know from this thread that a replacement just means another replacement and another and another.  So, buy a SP4 and after 30 days enjoy having no computer for the next few months except for a few days between replacements.  MS didn't market this feature, otherwise I would have bought 2 units so I could always have one sleeping while the other is in shipment being replaced.  Then when I get the first replacement, I'll spend a day reinstalling everything and hope it wakes when I need it to and when it doesn't, call support for a replacement while I wait for the first replacement to arrive and then ship off the current one, reinstall everything on the replacement and repeat.  Of course I would have to quit my job so that I could have a SP4 because most of the time I would be busy reinstalling stuff and arranging replacements and going over useless 'fixes' with tech support.
