Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    I never had a wake up issue since I bought the device a few days ago, I have updated to 17/12/15 firmware.

    But I still have the battery drain issue in sleep mode, it still seems that the device is not fully sleeping. GPU and CPU are somehow running which consumes about 8% battery during 2 hours sleep before it goes into hibernate automatically.

    I am wondering if wake up from sleep issue only exists in some devices, and clearly a large amount of devices according to this more than 30pages thread. But the battery drain issue should be more seriously existing in every device.

    Exactly. And less people will be buying it if even store models of the SP4 are doing the exact same thing, which happened to me in Best Buy when I checked out the SP4 demo. I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 that I bought several months ago, and was considering upgrading to the SP4. But when I went to play with the demo model, it wouldn't turn on. I had to do the multi-step process of power button for 30, power button + volume down button for 15, wait a few, power button on before I could use it. How many people before me passed the Surface Pro 4 by simply because they couldn't turn it on at the store?

    you called a call center,,, but an actual Microsoft service center for Surface is not available here... This is such a bad experience,, this is my first time to buy a super expensive computer and end up kinda failure... frustrating....
