My Surface Pro 4(s) have been a nightmare. I first purchased three of them (for myself and members of my family), all of which had to be exchanged after less than a week due to a variety of issues that Microsoft informed me came down to a bad run of manufacturing.
Okay, so let's give the next round a try.
I received three new Surface Pro 4s, and I continue to experience inconsistent (yet frequent) problems with all of them. One of the primary issues is that the battery is draining when the unit is powered "OFF." Not sleep mode (as I know Microsoft acknowledged
that they knew of the battery draining issue during SLEEP mode prior to release, yet they still released these expensive products to the market), I actually powered these devices completely off and the batteries have continued to drain.
It also seems that the device cannot even start back up when I put it into SLEEP mode or just close the tablet. If and when I close the tablet with the keyboard, the screen will go black and most of the time not come back on no matter what buttons I push.
I just have to wait until the device decides it is ready to turn back on.
Finally, with each and every Microsoft update, my system has been degraded. Their update two weeks ago broke all of my internal webcams; and now today's update (12/8) broke my Outlook program. I didn't have any issues connecting with my company Exchange
server (complete Microsoft product) until I downloaded and installed today's update. Now, Outlook cannot connect to my Exchange and we are trying to figure out how security certificates could have been changed in an update.
Bottom line, I have experienced more issues with this tablet than I have with any other product I have ever purchased. I would highly recommend anyone thinking of purchasing one to purchase something else as there are many other cheaper and better tablets
that have been available for quite some time. Microsoft was not ready to release this product, and it shows.
