Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    Dear Microsoft people why aren't you listening.  This has been happening to me since I purchased my 4 Pro.  I have purchased a Surface 1, Pro 2, Pro 3 and now a Pro 4 and done the same for my sales team..  I am the definition of loyalty and a valued revenue source.  This is a deal breaker.  I am not upgrading ANY of my guys to the 4 from their 3 if this issue isn't resolved.  We will switch to another platform.

    I hate to say it but a couple of times is not enough in my experience in order to know that the problem has gotten solved.

    If you are problem free after a week or so, please repost.

    While that is true, I would doubt there is any chance that there will be. A class action suit and if there is some lawyer is gonna get all the money and you'll get $100.

    On another note, I still have my survey out there if you guys had your problem fixed by new hardware or not, please go out and fill out the survey.

    So far I have had about 17 responses out of hundreds of participants in this forum.

    I really wanted to try Fast Ring updates (for other reasons, mostly Ubuntu on Windows, not just the power management problems), but when I went to sign up for it, I discovered that when you sign up for Windows preview releases, you give up your right to participate in any class action suits against Microsoft.

    Now, I have no current plans to file such a suit against Microsoft, but if subjecting myself to Microsoft's unfinished/unstable Windows code also involves cutting myself out of any legal settlement to make this right, than count me out as a guinea pig.  And given the problems so many of us have had with the SP4, and the fact that Microsoft has not stepped up to own the issue, it seems to me that a class action suit is fairly likely at some point...
