Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

All three are the same? Can you post pictures of the CPU, Mainboard, and GPU so we can see

In fact here is a refresh...I have lot #1541, just did a Reset this PC and kept my files. I've had one fail from sleep already, and last night after it went to sleep on it's own it was out of power when I woke up, and hadn't hibernated, but crashed.

Here is the CPU-Z details, which is what matters. We need to see if the people who ARE NOT having problems have an updated stepping/revision for their CPU, Mainboard, or Graphics

My new LOT1601 with no issues has same stepping/revision as you.

I have been following this thread since Nov15 when I bought my Surface Pro 4 LOT1544 and tried everything including painting Apple of my device. My issues are solved and I won't be following this thread any longer; lest I keep getting 20 emails a day. Here is what I recommend:

    1. RESET your Surface Pro 4 and install all updates. If the problem re-occurs you have a faulty device.
    2. Return your Surface Pro 4 for another one. I walked in to JB Hifi (Australia) with my old device explaining my sleep issues. After entering some info into their computer (getting ready to return the device), they stated they could give a new one on the spot. They handed me one that was LOT1552 and I asked for a later LOT and the best one they had was 1601.

So far so good with new device (long sleeps no issue).

I stayed away from online/phone support as I can't stand it when someone steps me through a process that takes 4 hours only to tell me what I told them in the first place.

Stop wasting your time playing around the drivers and hibernate etc. If a RESET doesn't fix it, take it back.

I would like to second this. I have also been on this since around Thanksgiving when I got my SP4 Lot 1542.  My store is almost 2 hours away.  But the amount of time screwing with this makes the travel pale. At this point, it is not going to get fixed if it is not working.  Get a new one.  I also am not convinced that Lot # is relevant, as mine and Jordan_755 have early Lot #s that seem to have responded to the updates.  I kind of think this thread should end, UNLESS Microsoft refuses to give a new one for these defective ones.  That would need to be broadcasted, but so far no evidence for that; folks are saying they are very helpful at the Store.

    Got an i5/16GB/256GB with a 540 GPU. Lot 1548.

As mentioned in an earlier reply, had the issue from Day 1with no wake consistently happening on any sleep (powered or battery) after 10 mins, with a 2 time exception immediately after the Large April Firmware update, but now it's back with a vengeance.

Even did the reset from Surface Image downloaded.

    Here are my CPUZID pics.
