Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

Me too. before the 17th Feb  update I could easily get through a day (including notes in quite a few meetings) and no plug in in- between. Still have some left for browsing on the couch at night (SP4 i5, 256gb)

Post update, I am now lucky to get through 2 meetings. Today started at 100% charge, screen at 50%, power plan "balanced" and switched off. Switched on around 10am, put to sleep to go into meeting. Had one meeting in which I took no notes, Pressed power button (sleep) and closed type keyboard. Opened to go to meeting at 3pm... Have "stay connected to wifi while on battery" unchecked  Only 6% power.. S(*&&*^&%T !!

Now what???? These units are not delivering what was advertised and what we expected by our "in good faith" purchase

Microsoft, listen to your customers, respond, please provide some sort of customer service, don't put your head in the sand and let  Panos tell us publically he is reading the posts plus give all the fancy words.. Come out and say what you are doing/come clean if you can't fix it and we will all return our units and move on.. or start a class action claiming for wasted hours

Indeed - the problem still exists and the update will roll back the driver.

I can confirm that this problem still persists with the 2/17/2016 update.

Yea same problem here. Plus the battery life seems alittle worse than before the update. I was able to get like 3 hours and 40 minutes of use today, b4 I could almost squeeze out 5.
