Honestly it is disgusting how Microsoft ignores this error and refuses to do anything about it knowing well that they receive hundreds, if not thousands of people with the same exact issue. Msft customer support in combination with this disposable laptop has caused me so much pain and has set me back so much in school and in my career, and I honestly think that there is something we should do to pressure them. We are paying too much money for a POS like this to not work, let alone too much money to try and replace it
Surface Book 3 Cracked Screen
My 3 month old Surface Book 3 has developed a small crack in the screen.
The crack is about 2cm long , at the top of the screen in the center above the webcam.
It is an upside down semi circle shape.
Microsoft Support have already told me it will not be covered under warranty.

2022-07-13T18:14:09+00:00 My screen cracked shortly after opening screen. it propagated right across the screen. MS said that it must be abuse, but it is not! Surface laptops have the same issue. MS needs to owns this one. Over $4k for the device and they produce flawed product and won't own up to it. BTW, long time MS supporter and own many devices.

2022-07-27T00:05:33+00:00 Definitely a design flaw.
Through a year of open and closing, I feel like the alignment of the spine of the book is off centre a bit. The edges of the keyboard/base are incredibly sharp, and the top corners of the screen extremely delicate, due to the cutouts for the speakers, and also for the on/off and volume buttons placed on the top, in a very loose frame.
There is zero cushioning when closing the screen.
I also wonder if it is a temperature issue. I usually let my laptop cool all the way down before closing, but not always to avoid dust getting in the vents. It also has been quite cold at night in my house and wonder if that would impact the glass.
Either way, if its happening in the same places for lots of people, it surely should be fixed by microsoft.

2022-07-27T08:18:34+00:00 I'm in Australia had the laptop for a year and about a month ago a hairline crack appeared and I have NO. IDEA. what I could have done to create it. It's now spreading.
Anyone have any luck as to how and where one can get it repaired. It's my work laptop, it's not like I can just send it away without and idea when I might get it back!

2022-07-27T12:15:00+00:00 Since my previous post, tonight I noticed a crack not in the glass but in the frame surround of the screen. Located just above the front camera. It is larger near the screen and narrow towards the back, making it clear the tablet section/screen is warping. I had it open on a desk and on my bed. Opened and closed gently. This is unbelievable for such a pricey laptop, for something to just keep degrading. The detachable screen should be built stronger than this.
This is a major defect in design and not through miss use. You need to be able to open a close a laptop.
