Surface Book 3 Cracked Screen

My 3 month old Surface Book 3 has developed a small crack in the screen. 

The crack is about 2cm long , at the top of the screen in the center above the webcam.

It is an upside down semi circle shape. 

Microsoft Support have already told me it will not be covered under warranty.

    I have 2 Surface Books - screen cracked on both; the screen on the older one is bulged out but it works normally; pity, otherwise a great machine; I don't see any responses to 2020 posts on this issue so I conclude that Microsoft doesn't care about generating negative goodwill;

    Hi Sebastian,

    I'm interested, the design of the surface book 3 screen folding over the keyboard base is so bad, any product design savy tech lawyer should have a field day with this case.

    Hey all. Very much sympathetic to what has happened to everyone in this thread. I for one and extremely upset and actually just switched to mac yesterday after giving up the illusion that Microsoft would ever admit their products were to blame and take in my device without having to fork over $700. I noticed that a similar issue with the M1 mac gained some traction and actually became a lawsuit, and I was wondering if maybe something like this could happen for the surface. Let me know if any of you are interested after knowing that this is a possibility. There is well beyond more than enough evidence and enough testimonials to make a case for us.

    Same issue here with my Surface Book 3. It just happened by itself as I was always careful with the laptop. Seems like a flaw in the design. The crack is from top to bottom of the screen, else the laptop is working as it should, also the touch screen. This should be covered by the warranty.

    People with the same issue should write here and hopefully Microsoft will give in and cover it by the warranty, as they did with the Surface Laptop 3.
