Same issue here. I have reported the small crack to the microsoft support. Hope that microsoft will investigate and recognize the craks as they did with the surface laptop.
Surface Book 3 Cracked Screen
My 3 month old Surface Book 3 has developed a small crack in the screen.
The crack is about 2cm long , at the top of the screen in the center above the webcam.
It is an upside down semi circle shape.
Microsoft Support have already told me it will not be covered under warranty.

2020-12-08T19:50:47+00:00 Hey folks,
have the same issue with my surface book 3 since two weeks ago. Closed it, openend it the day after and there was a crack, starting exactly where the metallic edge of the opening notch touches the screen going all over to the right speaker.
Closed it in the evening again and (i believe because the display is already cracked and therefore "weak") there was another crack in the next morning, starting exactly in the same spot as the first one but goes all the way down to the left corner.
Opened a case at Microsoft, they say it's not the same case as at the Surface Laptop so they are not willing to replace the screen.
There was no force or anthying else at all and the screen it just cracked when I closed the "high end" product of Microsoft.
This definetely is a design flaw!
You can find a bunch of videos on youtube describing the same problem since the surface book 1 - seems there was nothing done to fix this issue.
Also some reddit articles with the same issue.
Apple, the big competitor in this high-end market segment has a kind of rubber all around its McBook screens so even if you take it abroad or do not take care to much the screen won't crack.
I replied again to the support team that this is not acceptable and definetely a design flaw and now waiting on the response.
Would be interesting if someone already openend a law suit on this case.

2020-10-19T20:47:14+00:00 No resolution. Microsoft Support don't want to know about it.
I had a similar issue on my Surface Book 1, and they didn't want to know about that either.
There are cases out there of screen cracking randomly without being dropped or hit.
