My 3 month old Surface Book 3 has developed a small crack in the screen.

The crack is about 2cm long , at the top of the screen in the center above the webcam.

It is an upside down semi circle shape.

Microsoft Support have already told me it will not be covered under warranty.

I've just experienced the same problem with my Surface Book 3 and I do have other reported quality issues as well as the GeForce grapchis card disconnecting randomly, way to high DPS latency values and constantly short freezes without any related CPU loads

I raised the OEM issue with the repairers and was told that it's a bit of a misnomer as they're all made in China and probably from the same source.

The machine seems to be working perfectly well and is as sensitive in terms of pen drawing as it was previously, how long it lasts is anyone's guess.

Before buying my SB3 I'd contemplated getting an Asus Zenbook Duo and now I wish I had.

Did they fit an OEM screen? TBH the reason I have not had the screen replaced is that I fully expect the replacement to go as well. I'm convinced it's a design flaw with the SB3 and would much rather pay for the replacement to be a Surface Laptop Studio (SLS) - unfortunately they won't do this an insist on a refurbished SB3...

Sorry to read that you've also been hit by this problem Felipe. Mine has just been repaired by some local guys who did it within two days and at a cost of £380, which, although painful to have to pay, is much cheaper than Microsoft's £617 + postage and a long wait to have it returned. The repairer told me that, upon removing the old screen, it just disintegrated. I'm now wondering how long the replacement screen will last for and worry about what I'll find each time I open the Surface up. You are right that this is a Microsoft issue which they should be addressing and taking responsibility for.

Same issue for me. I the morning opened the Surface and there was a crack around the webcam. the crack apparently started at the microphone hole (which is a typical stress concentration feature). For me is clear that this is a design issue from Microsoft.
