My 3 month old Surface Book 3 has developed a small crack in the screen.

The crack is about 2cm long , at the top of the screen in the center above the webcam.

It is an upside down semi circle shape.

Microsoft Support have already told me it will not be covered under warranty.

All we can do is keep getting the word out so more people speak up. I just can’t wait for years or even months of arbitration so I’ll probably have to bite the bullet and pay. It makes me furious. Let me know if you have any success.

Same here. I am filling out the Notice of Dispute as I type this response.

Same issue with mine SB 15", laptop is 6weeks old and does not leave the office desk. Opened screen one morning to find cracks on my screen that originate from the pointed section of the recessed finger lift on the base. Absolutely a design issue for a portable device. I have not started a warranty claim yet and not very hopeful going by all the others that have theirs rejected.

Agreed but not really the point. Owners of these machines are paying many thousands of dollars to buy them. A screen on a multi thousand dollar machine SHOULD NOT break all by itself.

There are third party services that replace damaged Surface Book displays. If you search online you can find them. The cost seems to average around $250.00. I'm not making any recommendations but it's another option to paying for a reconditioned machine from Microsoft.
