Syncing music to the Surface Duo?

I connected the Duo to my PC and tried to copy my music to the Duo.  On my old phone I could copy the music to the phone by using windows explorer and just copy and paste to the phone.  On the duo I get an error message saying the device is no longer connected.  When I look at the Duo in windows explorer you can't see anything no folders at all.  My old phones folders showed up.  

I tried windows media player but the duo doesn't show up to sync to.  

Anyone know how to get music conveniently to the duo?

Was experiencing the same issue. Found the following setting. On the Surface Duoopen Settings, search for USB. Select USB Preferences, under "Use USB for" select File Transfer.

Windows now will be able to connect to Duo and allow file transfer via File Explorer.

    Thanks, I am in the middle of transferring some music now; besides from being painfully slow, it drops the connection rather frequently and I have to start over again and again ... i am hoping in some updates soon to smoothen the roughness of the current setup! I love the hardware and the concept, the software is driving me a bit nuts right now :-)

    It's not under connected devices from what I see after opening the settings app.

    After opening the "Settings App,", at the top search bar, type USB.

    3rd item down from the top:  USB Preferences

    You will then see "File Transfer" as the 3rd item down.

    One note, Duo must be connected via a USB cable to you Studio otherwise I've found the "buttons" inactive."

    You should then see a new folder under "This PC" in W10's File Manager :  Surface Duo/Internal Storage/ with folders displayed including Music & Pictures.  Then it should be drag and drop from your Studio's folders to Duo's.

    that would be nice. However, there is NO USB option in 'connected devices' ....

    I have

    currently connected

    previously connected devices

    connection preferences:

    bluetooth

    cast

    printing

    files received via bluetooth

    surface pen

    surface audio

    link to windows

    BUT NO USB

    USB connection is sketchy at best, the preferences are grayed out (no way to change from no data transfer to other options, or control by device...).

    I got to work somehow, it starts the transfer and then disappears off my desktop completely. I am trying to transfer music and images from my surface studio, it should be a piece of cake!
