Hey all, Recently (post 1903 update), my Surface Book 2 screen started flashing black every time I touch my Surface Pen to the screen to ink something. It works just fine if I'm using the Pen as a cursor (IE moving/closing windows, etc all work just fine) and if I'm using the pen to ink in a Win32 app. What I've tested in so far: OneNote UWP -- flashes when inking MS Whiteboard -- flashes when inking MS Sticky Notes -- flashes when inking OneNote 2016 -- works just fine I've run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit, re-installed the Intel UHD drivers, installed the latest Surface Firmware, and run Windows Update, all to no avail. I'm running W10 1903 Build 18362.175 on a 13in Surface Book 2 i7-8650U. Has anyone run into this issue before, or have any thoughts on what I should try next? I haven't tried a different pen since I only have the one, but that was my next thought.

I actually stopped inking on the surface book 2 for now and switched to an I pad pro for inking and taking notes. But I still use surface book 2 as a laptop and that is not a problem. The inking issue I believe still has not stopped but I will try to ink on it again and let you know if the problem subsided or still exists. Yeah, this is really exhausting to deal with. I've spend hours googling and trying all the recommendations to make it work, but my Surface book2 still has this problem. In my care, it only happens when I am have a secondary display attached and try to do inking. It doesn't matter if its a UWP app or a regular .exe such as power point, anything that has inking compatibility will cause the screen to blink and the computer to lock up for a few seconds. The whole point of me a buying a surface was to use the pen while projecting and giving presentations, Microsoft you gotta fix this. I recently did a fresh windows install from a usb stick using the Microsoft iso download tool so I'm stuck on Windows 10 2004. Please don't tell me to add users to the group policy because that doesn't work. Perhaps it has to do with the way windows is handling secondary displays attached through USB-C adapters? and thus there is another area which permissions need to be updated? Microsoft with your Sh#$, I'm so tired of malfunctioning Surface products, I bought this SB2 because you wouldn't replace the display on my SP4. From what I have experienced over the past few years, the Surface brand is just an overpriced line of garbage.

Yes adding those fixes it. The problem with some people is that their sys admins will not change it

I know I am kinda late, but this still seems to be an issue in the Windows 10 2004 version that recently came for my Surface Pro 6. I just wanted to mention that removing the administrators set worked for me as well. So if you find this later it should still apply. Edit: Nevermind the problem came back after just using OneNote for about two hours. The only thing that seems to fix it is using one of the earlier versions of the Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 drivers, but I haven't tested this enough to say whether this works or not.

I have the exact same problem but not after changing to dark mode. After using my device for almost one year now with intensive OneNote usage, it suddenly started to become a problem. Is your problem fixed by now and if so how?
