Good luck to all. Microsoft just last week finally fixed the broken WiFi on the Surface Pro 3. I had two SP2's and almost warrantied this SP3 as well before they fixed it. The track record is terrible and the reason why I am not buying a Surface Book. That they can call them business machines by any stretch and get away with it is amazing to me.
Where are you Microsoft???
I joined this forum right after I started to have issues with my Surface Book (i7/256/gPU) and since then I come to this forum every single day at least 5 or 7 times per day to see what other people are doing to fix all the reported issues. What I am starting to notice is the change in tone from all users, from a peer-to-peer support and collaboration space to a place where we are all expressing our frustrations and disappointment while we count our days to make a decision if we return or not the Surface Book. But I think that the WORST part of all, (at least for me) is that Microsoft is not stepping up to address any of these issues.
We know you (Microsoft) read these comments and follow some of these threads closely. The only thing we ask you to do is to acknowledge us, jump in and speak up. Tell us that you are working on it, share ETAs... something. Most of us believed in the product and pre-ordered it the same day it was launched. The least thing you can do is to work with us so we can help you to fix the problems. What is the point of having a forum if you are not going to lead the conversation?

2015-11-18T00:56:53+00:00 Sadly, I returned my SP4 today. I had a number of problems, but felt all could be resolved with a software or firmware update. I love the Surface and really wanted to keep it. But, then it froze and after a hard shutdown would not restart. I don't need a computer that takes a vacation whenever it wants. It was on a charger at the time and I left it there and periodically tried to reboot. After a day, it did restart (without any action on my part. as far as I can tell). Truthfully, my 30-day trial was approaching and I did not want to be stuck with a machine that I feel was prematurely released. Phone support has opportunities for improvement (that's the positive spin and clearly an understatement) but at least the store was willing to take the computer back without hassle (except trying to convince me that I would be back). Maybe I will, but I would suggest that people wait a while until all the problems are resolved. I love the concept; it is brilliant. But what is not brilliant are all the problems. Customers are not guinea pigs. Perhaps it might be a good idea to wait a while before purchasing. To those who say, "well all new computers have problems." Well yes and no. Certainly not to this degree with a 4th generation product. Microsoft would do well to acknowledge this and make a note to vet their products more thoroughly. I am left with a less than satisfactory opinion of Microsoft, but still love the Surface concept. Maybe the SP5, after a suitable delay after release. I won't hold be breath.

2015-11-17T23:50:41+00:00 Thank you for the response, Josh. One of our employees reported his Surface Pro4 froze today and is completely unresponsive. This is our test device, which determines whether we purchase Surfaces for the rest of our Sales Department. They are excited about getting them, but issues must be resolved quickly or the perception will turn sour.

2015-11-17T21:27:49+00:00 Hi Everyone,
This feedback is certainly well received and improving your experience is our top priority. To this end we will be publishing another Surface update later this week. We will post again in this thread when it is available.
When you go to check for this update in Windows Update you will also notice a Windows 10 November Update being available. This is another update for the Windows 10 OS itself and adds more improvements and new features. For more information on this update, check Windows 10 November update: FAQ.
Thanks for all the feedback!

2015-11-15T22:52:41+00:00 I'm on my first replacement, batch 1541, and it froze today.
Going to keep using it to figure out if it was a one time thing or otherwise.
My last surface started out well, then during two weeks started freezing up up to 3-4 times a day while I used it. (batch 1542) Basically making it impossible to take notes in class as I had to keep resetting the device.
Crossing my fingers but somehow I think there are some 1541, more 1542s, and some 1543s with this issue.
Probably production issues or bad i7 processors according to rumors circulating.
