SurfaceBook Crashes/Shutdowns During Sleep

My SB (i5, 256gb, 8gb, GeforceGPU) keeps crashing/freezing during sleep which causes it to shut down. According to the windows reliability monitor it has been happening every day multiple time.

I though I was going crazy because I clearly remember not turning it off before putting it to sleep. I recently had my original SB replaced with a new one which fixed most of the issues from blue screens to flickering that would not go away. But this new one still has the Hello Camera issue where it wont turn on during startup and this new problem that has popped up.

Is this caused by a hardware defect? I really don't want to drive 23km to the other side of my city to get another replacement at a Microsoft store if the issues aren't resolved. Here's an image on the report. As you can see, there are 17 critical events today not to mention all the other days as well. Thanks.

If anyone has a solution that isn't a complete factory reset or system reinstall (I've tried them before) that would be great.

As of yesterday I went back to sleep instead of hibernate and I'm still losing about 1% per hour (11% in 10.5 hours) in sleep mode on battery. I even had a few crashes when I had disabled sleep and was just using hibernate.

I also experience this problem almost daily. I typically close the lid after work and next time I open my surface book I find that it has shutdown, even though it is set to sleep. I've been slow to report it. It finally got so frustrating after opening office products and constantly being notified that there are 'unsaved' recoverable documents. Microsoft please please send a fix for this. I so badly just want to quickly resume work where I left off.

Does anyone know if the new Dell XPS 13 2in1 or HP 360x has this issue?

I finally gave up on this a while ago. I don't have the time to be a unpaid Microsoft beta tester. And I don't have time to drive 4.5 hours one way to the next Microsoft store.

I don't know about the Dell and HP, but i purchased a Lenovo X1 Yoga, which is wonderful and hasn't crashed once in 3 months.......

Something is not right with your system. I have a Surface Book i7/16GB/512GB and have not had a single problem with Sleep/Hibernation since the update that fixed the problem last June. I would recommend that you visit a Microsoft Store and have one of their techs look at your Surface Book.

I'm now on my 4th SB (i7/16/500) and though the sleep problems are rare now, I've experienced several of the same problems on every single one. They have all been replaced by Microsoft at no charge to me.
1. Randomly crashes overnight with a critical error "Kernel Power" - about once/twice a month
2. Keypad and trackpad randomly stop responding even though my wireless mouse works. Have to detach/reattach. (once a week)
3. Trackpad or keys respond very sluggishly for several minutes even though wireless mouse still responds sharply.
I've just decided to live with these issues and make sure I save my work often. All 4 SBs I've had have had these, so I'm giving up on getting them replaced, and I really like the hardware too much to make the switch. I'm getting a new work laptop paid for in a few months anyway, and this will turn into just my personal one.
