SurfaceBook Crashes/Shutdowns During Sleep

My SB (i5, 256gb, 8gb, GeforceGPU) keeps crashing/freezing during sleep which causes it to shut down. According to the windows reliability monitor it has been happening every day multiple time.

I though I was going crazy because I clearly remember not turning it off before putting it to sleep. I recently had my original SB replaced with a new one which fixed most of the issues from blue screens to flickering that would not go away. But this new one still has the Hello Camera issue where it wont turn on during startup and this new problem that has popped up.

Is this caused by a hardware defect? I really don't want to drive 23km to the other side of my city to get another replacement at a Microsoft store if the issues aren't resolved. Here's an image on the report. As you can see, there are 17 critical events today not to mention all the other days as well. Thanks.

If anyone has a solution that isn't a complete factory reset or system reinstall (I've tried them before) that would be great.

So far, so good here, too on the sleep issues. No crashes since installing the June updates. Also, I'm seeing MUCH improved battery life during sleep/connected standby. My battery used to be around 50% by early evening, and it is now in the upper 60s most nights.

I'm really starting to have hope that this update fixed the sleep crashing... :-) That took too bloody long, but better late than never?!

Right after the update I checked to see if the updates all installed. I reset my power options to the defaults and then rebooted with fingers crossed.

Three days in and so far sleep has worked just as it should. Yesterday I was out of the office with the SB in my Messenger Bag for a good part of the day. She stayed sleeping in my Messenger Bag all last night.  She slept cool as a cucumber. Pressed the Power Button this morning and hibernate quickly woke up just as it should. Checked the Event Viewer and there hasn't been a critical event since the update.

    So far so good.

I also have good news to bring. Before the update, my surface was crashing every night. Ever since I installed the new updates, I haven't had a crash. (I've had the update for 3 days) I think Microsoft has finally fixed this issue. It took them way too goddamn long, but I'm glad they finally did it.

Just a question, but I had to install the updates in two different restarts, did you check and make sure that they installed? Just wondering b/c the Surface integration driver is supposed to fix the screen issue

So it's been almost 72 hours, now, and no issues. Amazing.

My report of issues was after one reboot. Then the issues caused a second and no issues since. I should have known to reboot twice as this has been the case, before. But after one reboot, all updates were installed (I did check). If one needs two, why on earth does Microsoft not enforce/force/notify of this fact? But minor compared to the issues this seems to fix that rendered my SB almost useless for so long.

[NOTE: admitting things are better probably curses me to 10 years of unstable computing, but I felt I needed to update my earlier report to be accurate. See, Microsoft, I'm fair! Remember that the next time I try to post an honest review of your products on your Store site...]
