SurfaceBook Crashes/Shutdowns During Sleep

My SB (i5, 256gb, 8gb, GeforceGPU) keeps crashing/freezing during sleep which causes it to shut down. According to the windows reliability monitor it has been happening every day multiple time.

I though I was going crazy because I clearly remember not turning it off before putting it to sleep. I recently had my original SB replaced with a new one which fixed most of the issues from blue screens to flickering that would not go away. But this new one still has the Hello Camera issue where it wont turn on during startup and this new problem that has popped up.

Is this caused by a hardware defect? I really don't want to drive 23km to the other side of my city to get another replacement at a Microsoft store if the issues aren't resolved. Here's an image on the report. As you can see, there are 17 critical events today not to mention all the other days as well. Thanks.

If anyone has a solution that isn't a complete factory reset or system reinstall (I've tried them before) that would be great.

    I'm fairly confident that the sleep issue being discussed here only happens when the Surface Book is connected to the Surface Dock and possibly to AC power. The last two days I've been putting the computer to sleep on battery power only and it wakes up after 8+ hours of sleep in the same state.

    i have this issue when i go into Hibernate.  I checked the event view and it seems i have a critical power failure when i hit the power button trying to come out of the hibernate mode.  So, something is happening that when it is in Hibernate mode, and I hit the power button it is shutting it down and then starting it.  that seems to be my issue and recently started i think it was prior to the 4/19 update but can't be positive.

    This appears to be a completely different issue than the sleep crash being discussed. You might want to start a new thread about that.

    Microsoft,

    If my company operated like yours, I would be out of business already. I don't understand why people at the top haven't been more proactive.

    There should be constant updates (once or twice a week) from the company addressing all of the outstanding issues with this product.

    I know this is a first generation machine, but the bugs and glitches are so obvious. It seems as if not a single employee at the company ever tried using the Surface Book.

    This is just as bad as a car company selling a vehicle where one of the engine's cylinders doesn't work.

    My advice is stop bringing in CEOs and top level people that try to dress hip, look cool, and wear tight hoodies. Instead,  bring in people who understand how to run a business and execute a successful product launch.

    Yes, I too will always crash "if" left turned on overnight.

    However I never leave my Surface Book turned on overnight unless to test.

    Here's some more information...

    My Power and Sleep settings are at the defaults.

    Sleep is, of course, turned ON and at defaults.

    Windows Hello is turned ON.  (I love Windows Hello Face Recognition and wouldn't be without it.)

    During my workday I'm running..

    Microsoft Visual Studio

    Microsoft Office 365 subscription

    Microsoft Office Outlook

    Microsoft OneNote

    Microsoft Office Word

    Microsoft Office Excel

    Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop subscription

    Google Chrome browser 64-bit

    I'm sorry you are having trouble during the day.   

    All my applications run error free and I've never had a crash during my workday.
