Surface Duo 2 - permanent reboots after Update may 30 2023

DId anyone else experience random shutdowns and/or reboots not coming up again after the update may 30 2023? Display showing the option of retrying oder factory reset.

Saw also some postings on reddit regarding this new issue.

Thank you for your patience while we have investigated Surface Duo devices that would restart after the May 30th, 2023 update. The June 26th, 2023 update improves system stability. See Update Surface Duo for more info on how to update your Surface Duo or Surface Duo 2.

    It seems VPN was the main reason for reboots.

    I have my wifi enabled and disabled my VPN.

    Seems to be working without any reboots now.

    But this is just a workaround, Microsoft needs to fix it with a new patch.

    Oh no, I think my Duo 2 is dead dead. I turned it on to try some more troubleshooting. It was doing the same things as before, then both screens went black, and the left screen displayed a battery symbol before turning off. I haven't been able to get it back on since. :(

    I'm sorry to hear that. It seems like everyone is experiencing slightly different issues. I have moved on to another phone. I miss my duo, but I can't risk it going dead on me while I'm working. I hope Microsoft fixes this soon. It's not good to leave your user base in a bad place. People will move on...

    Set vpn of

    Set WiFi off

    Reset WiFi and Bluetooth settings

    Manual restart

    Work out in this order
