Updated June, 27 2023

Thank you for your patience while we have investigated Surface Duo devices that would restart after the May 30th, 2023 update. The June 26th, 2023 update improves system stability. See Update Surface Duo for more info on how to update your Surface Duo or Surface Duo 2.

Almost a month later and we don't even have the option to revert to the previous (working) build. This is madness!

Microsoft doesn't seem concerned that the few people that loved this device are more unable to use them in a stable manner. I'm afraid that I can no longer accept this level of poor customer service. Guess when the three fold 5 comes out, I'll need to consider it.

I think everyone needs to put in a warranty claim. The update broke the device, therefore we are all entitled to a replacement, repair or refund. And since the first two are not an option Microsoft needs to give a full refund. Here in Australia our consumer protection system is strong enough that regardless of age, we would be entitled to a refund or replacement. Consumers choice of which one occurs under a major failure.

I think if enough people go through the process of a warranty claim, Microsoft will pay attention.

I love my Surface Duo 2, but the latest update has broken this device. It resets constantly. I had to purchase a replacement phone since I relied on my Duo 2 as my daily driver(bought a Samsung product). I cannot stop conducting business while they figure how to release a phone update. Microsoft took a great device and made it unusable. I miss using my Duo 2. Perhaps Microsoft should look into their software verification before they release another update. Most people can't have their phone suddenly become unusable. This will drive them to replace their device with a competitor. It is a shame...

I have also had multiple unexpected reboots on a Surface Duo 1 since this last update - together with the retry/factory reset option mentioned elsewhere.

In fact, I tried to post this comment using the Duo, but it crashed again whilst doing so, and I've had to post it using a Surface Studio 1 (an i7 /32gb premium Microsoft machine, costing thousands, which Microsoft say is not up to the task of running Windows 11..)

Incidentally.. marking a serious problem as 'answered' on here, when Microsoft have clearly not even found the cause, let alone distributed a fix, is both misleading and dishonest.
