I was previously experiencing the random shutdowns, but they have almost totally gone away. I downloaded the latest update and did have an Android problem affecting app usage, but I was able to clear it. Since then, my Surface Duo has been operating nearly flawlessly as hoped and expected. I am sorry that others are still experiencing the random shutdowns. All mobile phones should provide 100% uptime.
Surface Duo shutdown when not in use
Hi everbody,
since about two weeks I`m a proud owner of Surface Duo and it's doing really fine.
The only topic I've found: everytime the Duo is not in use for hours (e. g. over night) it shuts down itself.
When it is in use it works proberly.
Does anyone else has such a problem?

2021-03-30T20:51:05+00:00 Same issue here,
My 2nd device, always turning randomly off when not in use.
Imho this premium class phone should habe a better quality assurance. I don't think that this is a hardware issue.
Device is unreliable with build 2021.207.72
Please fix this...

2021-03-19T14:22:59+00:00 Just installed an update. The build number is 2021.207.70. Within minutes, the device has rebooted twice.

2021-03-17T13:10:09+00:00 This random, unpredictable, shutdown issue has been going on for months. If it cannot be fixed by an update, I would like to figure out how to get the Duo to make a clearly audible sound whenever it shuts down. The sound needs to be loader than the soft note emitted when the Duo is closed. The Duo has many positive features, but it must be reliably available for incoming calls and texts for people to be willing and able to use it as a primary communication device.
