Yes, it's been fixed from the latest update. 5 devices later, I gave up and just kept the phone, knowing it wasn't a hardware issue. So glad I don't have to play background music on silent anymore to keep the phone going.
Surface Duo shutdown when not in use
Hi everbody,
since about two weeks I`m a proud owner of Surface Duo and it's doing really fine.
The only topic I've found: everytime the Duo is not in use for hours (e. g. over night) it shuts down itself.
When it is in use it works proberly.
Does anyone else has such a problem?

2021-04-19T17:43:39+00:00 Hi,
I cannot confirm this behaviour, for my DUO is randomly shutting down even when not in motion nor am I touching the device. I'm aware of this because my headset tells me it has been disconnected. Honestly I think this might be due to a physical constraint (especially when carrying the device around it shuts down) but I also believe this might be software based. Maybe bluetooth or some other exotic software that tries to alert me in some way (like SMS or a phone call)...
I really cannot understand why microsoft tries to sell a so called premium device which is almost unuseable. Sad but true - this device is not trustworthy at all.
Don't get me wrong, I really love the idea of 2 screens and I like the way the device works - if it works.
I think I fetch myself a multisim and put my galaxy 9s back to work at least to stay online.
I don't want to exchange this device anymore for this causes me a lot of trouble and I am pretty sure the issue won't be resolved.

2021-02-01T22:49:49+00:00 Jon: I appreciate your frustration, but I also agree with your assessment of the Duo as a "wonderful device." My Duo (my third one) has finally settled down with regard to surprising, aggravating glitches; but it still exhibits some problematic issues like the random shutdown that MS must address if the company wants the Duo to be successful. 2020-12-24T17:39:12+00:00 I have had the same problem with the random shutdowns, which are annoying because it causes missed calls and missed text messages. I have tried to remedy the problem with some bit of success, but not complete fix. When the Surface Duo has shut down, hold down the volume up button for 15 seconds and then press the start button while holding the volume up button. After the restart, the random shutdowns have been fewer but not totally eliminated.
