Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Crackling Sound

I've had my MS Pro 4 for a few days now. Updates are installed and it's working fine. I hear a crackling or arcing sound every once in a while. It even happens when in sleep mode. Should I be concerned or is there an explanation for this?

    I live in Belgium... no Microsoft stores here. My device is my 6th or 7th replacement (lost count) and is now out of warranty...

    Same here. Typically it comes a few minutes after closing the lid (in Sleep I guess).

    Doesn't annoy me that much.

    But with all the issues I've had with my SP4, it makes me worried about how long I can expect the SP4 to last :-(

    And again, I haven't heard Microsoft acknowledging the problem.

    The guy at the Microsoft store was so nice. I explained the problem and my frustration. He replaced my sp4 on the spot with the newest version (still no answer to the cause of the noise though).

    I purchased this Surface PRo 5 months ago through QVC.

    The crackling sound happens both when it is plugged or unplugged and when it is sleep mode.

    I have not tried to fix it.  That is why I am writing to you .

    To be clear, Do you mean a "Surface Pro" or a "Surface Pro 4"
