Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Crackling Sound

I've had my MS Pro 4 for a few days now. Updates are installed and it's working fine. I hear a crackling or arcing sound every once in a while. It even happens when in sleep mode. Should I be concerned or is there an explanation for this?

We all have the same problem.

Clearly, Microsoft screwed up the driver settings and doesn't know how to fix it.

Thus, they offer us the garbage responses to try the troubleshooting/diagnostic tools (as if we're too stupid to know to do that in the first place) and then hand us off to a Microsoft agent. In turn, clearly they have no respect for their call centre agents either ala telling us to contact them knowing that this is a widespread issue that will not be resolved via their help.

What happens after we all spend frustrating hours reaching no resolution? They take the easy route of having us waste our personal time and energy to swap out a new device IF IT'S STILL UNDER WARRANTY OR WE ARE LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES.

If you aren't stateside or are slightly over warranty, you're the sucker. You trusted Microsoft and got burnt for $800-$2000. Be smart the next time and boot a Unix based OS from a hardware mfg that isn't in bed with the beast of Redmond.

Well, they never have supported SP4 in my experience.

I have had most of the problems reported in this forum: sleep of death, crackling sound etc.

And Microsoft have never acknowledged the problems.

(Well they did at the start with sleep of death, but then they declared the problem fixed when it wasn't.)

Everyone can make mistakes, but not taking responsibility for them is a killer for business.

I for one will never buy a device from Microsoft again.
