For me the last update the ms support suggested to me via remote access solved the problem. I am on a surface book.
Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Crackling Sound
I've had my MS Pro 4 for a few days now. Updates are installed and it's working fine. I hear a crackling or arcing sound every once in a while. It even happens when in sleep mode. Should I be concerned or is there an explanation for this?

2019-01-08T20:21:50+00:00 I've turned on my machine and the screen flicks for two second, than nothing happened. When I press the power button, I hear the crackling sound but machine doesn't turn on. There is no solution to fix and warranty is expired. I assume there is some hardware issue.. anyone have the same problem?
No, it's a problem with the Operating System and that we are forced to allow to update with this bug. There is nothing that you can do about it but buy new hardware. It's almost like they intentionally allow the bug to persist so that people think that their hardware has gone bad and will purchase a new product.

2019-01-08T20:19:15+00:00 GREETINGS ALL.
I just wanted to offer you all hope that YES, YOU ARE GETTING SCAMMED BY MICROSOFT.
Because of this and a host of other issues that have gone ignored and unresolved by Microsoft while they waste time and effort updating our systems with flashy garbage that serves no additional use to 90% of users, I HAVE RECENTLY SWITCHED TO A MAC.
FUNNY THING.
Even when I run Windows 10 via Virtual Machine on the Macbook, IT STILL OFFERS CRACKLING THROUGH THE SPEAKERS EVEN THOUGH THE CONCURRENT OSX SOUNDS COME THROUGH PERFECTLY CLEAR.
I NEVER AFTER 20 YEARS OF USING WINDOWS THOUGHT I WOULD SWITCH TO MAC.
I feel like such an idiot for not doing so sooner. Obviously, the problem is a bug in the OS and they could care less about solving it or taking customer complaints seriously even for an issue like this that could possibly RUIN THE HARDWARE THAT YOU PAID FOR AND OWN BY BLOWING OUT THE SPEAKERS.
RIP MICROSOFT. WE HATE YOU.
Sincerely,
Disgruntled FORMER user.
