Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Crackling Sound

I've had my MS Pro 4 for a few days now. Updates are installed and it's working fine. I hear a crackling or arcing sound every once in a while. It even happens when in sleep mode. Should I be concerned or is there an explanation for this?

    I've found a solution for this that worked for me

    The bug is in Cortana, so you need to switch it off

    Go to "Cortana & Search Settings"

    Turn off all three settings:

    1. "Let Cortana respond to Hey Cortana" to "Off"
    2. "Let Cortana listen for my commands when I press the Windows Logo Key" to "Off"
    3. "Use Cortana even when my device is locked" to "Off"

    Then restart the PC

    I think that you need all the Cortana settings off, because turning off just some didn't make a difference

    Hi,

    Let's go ahead and check if there are settings that we need to adjust that might help resolving this crackling noise issue on your Surface device. Please try to uncheck the Enhance audio enhancements under the Sound Properties of your Surface Pro 4 and see if the crackling noise will still be evident.

    Same thing today...

    It's always there after a pop\crackle.

    Same problem,

    every 15 minutes or so when on or in standby, the pop/crack occurs. Verrrrrry annoying. Tried new drivers, (realtek audio and screen) did not help.

    This needs to be fixed (Funny tidbit, this is my 5th Replacement unit.... Now i'm out of warranty. Problems keep coming.)
