Surface Laptop 3 - Rubber Feet Falling Off

Hello! I'm loving my Surface Laptop 3, however, to my dismay, the back left rubber foot (or bumper) fell off. I've tried putting it on several times, but it kept falling off.

I'm looking to get it fixed, so I don't scratch my Surface or the surface it's on :P. It's still in warranty and since I didn't do anything to prompt this, I figured I could get it replaced. But I haven't seen anything concrete. I also don't wanna overpay for this. These things probably cost pennies, and since I'm tech savvy I know that they are taken off to service this laptop, so I know they gotta have extras.

The other note I have is if Microsoft tries to make me pay for this (I'm somewhat confident they won't though) I'm still able to just replace it at the retailer I bought it at (yay Costco!). But, that would be very disappointing, considering the reach and quality I've received with Microsoft products up until then.

Any answers/assistance would be great, as I've seen other members have this issue and it not really get resolved.

Feet for Surface Laptop 3&4, Surface Laptop Studio, Surface Laptop SE, and Surface Laptop Go 2 are now all available in US and Canada on the Surface Laptop Accessories page: Surface Laptop Accessories - Microsoft Store.

You can also find an article with repair guides for each model here: Replace the feet on Surface devices (microsoft.com)

I am facing the same issue. When I select Accessory, I don't see Misc as an option. I see Pen Tips, and Power Supplies, as well as the Slim Pen Charger, but no Misc for the feet?

Microsoft support said that they no longer supplied this product. Where else can we purchase the correct feet?

    Hi Janette & Others,

I have 27 Surface devices in my small business.  All I would like to do is purchase the little black rubber feet that have detached from several of our Surface 3's.

However, no one at the MS store in Sydney could help - or more to the point didn't really care and there seems to be no simple way of purchasing the rubber feet online either.  Its rather frustrating however not surprising that after sales care is poor.

    Can anyone from MS help..?

    David

I literally just followed the answer and they replaced my whole laptop for free. Here are my thoughts:

I'm pretty sure the issue stems from the physical Microsoft stores all being closed, because they would normally dispatch these little problems to them.

Depending on where you bought it, if it was perhaps a wholesale type store, you could try and return it.

I can try and un-answer the question, so hopefully a rep will respond. If I cannot, I'd say create your own community question and see if a rep resonds that way.

I hope these kind of things can be fixed for not just me. Personally, these bad customer experiences would affect my future purchase decisions (and hopefully yours too) especially considering how important a computer is during a pandemic where things like online school is normal.

    Hi@masterbuilder31,
My laptop rubber feet are coming off and my surface laptop 3 is still under warranty.

Why do I have to pay for rubber feet which is obviously a failure of this new laptop in terms of durability when I still have warranty for it? I even called Microsoft support and they are supposed to call me back, but no call yet.

    Thanks,
