Surface pro 7 Black Screen while in Use

Hey there,

i'm having this weird issue with my Surface pro 7 that it's Screen seemingly randomly turns black.

Specifically:

When i'm at the lowest Brightness(0) and i playback a video on mpc-hc the screen of the surface just turns black.

The playback is still running i can still hear the sound from the video, just visually i see a black screen. 

I can fix it by pressing the power button once and locking it. Then unlock it again and the black screen is gone.

This issue only happens when my brightness is at 0.

    Hi , Yes this problem has been resolved 2 month back in my surface pro 7 . After replacing 3 devices . One of the microsoft techinical support asstant resolved this problem . The issue is with graphics card driver. If you have still with warrenty I would recomodate to call them. There few registry change is required to resolve this issue.

    I had the problem in 2019. With time and efforts I got rid of it. Update of graphics drivers where necessary. But then, recently, my computer has been updated to 2004 version. And the problems are back. I will have to fight, update, and do what I can to repair the thing. Why don't they make sure that the drivers are ok before? Do they work with Intel? Do they do some tests? I don't think so. Not a good job.

    My new surface pro 7 screen has gone black 3 separate times while reading on-line newspapers. I am plugged in at the time. I then press the power button and it springs back to life.. What's the problem and does it indicate bigger problems may follow? Thanks.
