Until 2 days ago I always left Surface lain on its keyboard with the logo facing upwards in order to protect the screen as much as possible. Two days ago I stopped using the keyboard as much, so left it sat on the logo - though I always picked it straight
up before using it.
Thumbprints, yes. Scratches / scuffs, no. Hole in logo - today yes. :|
Combined with sd card issues, poor batt life prior to firmware update and the fact that prior to refresh, device manager hidden devices showed that a WD passport had been connected at some time, I'm wondering if (a) I was foolish to believe Microsoft's boasts
about build quality, and (B) have been given a second hand unit. :|
I can understand that all items have failures, but just using paint for the logo seems stupid to me. If MS are so proud of the vapMG process, couldn't they have used that to make a non-peelable logo? Lik an indent or something? Just wish I hadn't taken the
time to do batt life tests now. Could have returned it if I hadn't. :|
