The Logo is suppose to be black!!, not white, the white stuff is something like a residue left over from the laser etching. They probably forgot to clean it off before delivery. Logo is suppose to be black!!
I never even noticed any logo on the unit until I saw these comments a few days after I got mine. (I bought one on the first day they were sold.) I never saw any "white" on the back of my unit. In the right light, I can see a faint logo. It is gray or light
black, barely different in color from the kickstand color. i cannot feel it with my fingertip. Looking at it with a magnifying glass, i see no signs of peeling or other deterioration. So without this dialog, I would have said that what i have is what is
intended.
In fact, would say that my logo looks exactly like the one on the photos in the Microsoft advertising...see the image on this page, for example:
http://www.microsoft.com/Surface/en-US/surface-with-windows-rt/home
No white there.
i certainly do agree that it is a pretty subtle logo -- barely visible except at certain angles and in good light. So i suppose you could say that Microsoft did not choose a logo that will be very useful for promoting its product. But it does not strike me
as something that would prompt me to go through the hassle of exchanging it without some other defect....
