Battery drain with Unregistered device SE?

Hi all, 

Lately I've been noticing a large battery drain (at least by my standards) of ~1-2% per hour during connected standby. Based on what's advertised (7-10 days idle) I'm getting ~4 days at best? I ran the sleep study, battery report and energy report and came up with interesting results. I've also calibrated the battery and have no current pending updates. Any ideas as to why the large battery drain during standby? 

Also sorry in advance for the long post. I'm not sure how to post the full reports on this forum.

    Just spent 3 hours researching this issue, as I am facing the same problem with my Surface 2. I have looked up the Sleep Study, and mostly the Tegra drivers are responsible. I am getting only 2.5 days standby time. I have already exchanged the device once.

    One more strange thing is that every time I look for updates (a couple of times every day!), there are many found. They take a while to download and install (last time there were 47 updates, and took an hour to download and install. The tablet shut down and restarted a couple of times on its own after they were downloaded). Don't know if this is normal.

    What I'm finding strange is that not everyone seems to be experiencing this issue, as some people report great on-screen time from a charge (8-10 hours) and close to advertised standby time (7-15 days). After all, it is a software glitch...

    Everyone who is experiencing this issue - I feel your pain. The Surface 2 is a great piece of hardware, but the battery life on standby, and a few other issues are really letting it down, I hope they can be resolved.

    A resolution by the Microsoft team is definitely necessary.

    Having the same issue here as well. It would be nice to at least know what 'unregistered device SE' might be...

    Sadly enough i don't think we are read by any customer care technician. Think we have to try contacting Microsoft by phone. By the way this issue has been up for months, I think it won't be fixed at this point

    Let me know if you find any solution, for now I guess I will just shut the device down when not in use. Kind of defies the purpose of having an ARM device, but unfortunately there are no alternatives to the Surface 2 with similar specs/functionality on the market as of now.

    my surface 2 is shut down, in a drawer. i'll wait for a solution cause i like the device, but in the meantime i bought another tablet.
