I heard the manufacturer told Microsoft the area around the usb-c port was too thin, and the plastic would crack, so they should switch it to metal or ceramic. But MS said it would be too expensive.

Where will the surface Duo be manufactured? Hopefully not China.

I am interested in the Surface Duo but I avoid buying products made in China. I dont mind Korea or any of our allies but not China. Can you tell me where the Duo will be built so I can decide what my next device will be.

I've been an Apple user for 10 years or more, and I'm considering switching.
Partly because I'm bored but also because I don't want my next Smartphone to come from China.
The Surface Duo was the first option that came to mind.
