Hissing noise with new Microsoft Surface Earbuds

I'm an early adopter - got them on the day of release.

There appears to be a glaring issue, and I wonder whether they're particular to only my pair.

Basically, whenever there is about to be sound played - such as unlocking of the phone, start of a phone call or music, white noise hissing appears, sometimes with a "pop" and then lasts about 2-3 seconds after the sound stops. Even if no sound is played, quick locking or unlocking of the phone results in a 3 second noticeable white noise hissing sound.

Please advise. Does anyone else experience this issue?

Bose Soundsport stay in the ears. I've had the Surface Buds fall out multiple times because they are maybe only marginally better than Apple Airpods when it comes to staying in the ears... If your anatomy is not right - they WILL fall out, and likely on the floor.

However, the hissing/popping with the Bose earbuds is maybe 1/10th that of Surface Buds.

They should've made the buds with a wing like Bose and other brands. What I'm saying is, these buds are for sitting infront of the computer all day at work or home. As soon as you start tomove around they will wriggle themselves loose.

Is this issue observed only with Microsoft Teams, or pretty much all applications? I'm holding off on the purchase until I see this issue resolved. I intend to use it daily with Discord (with push to talk, so frequent sound start/stop) and Slack on a Surface Pro X, often with music in the background. When not on the computer, I'd be using it with my Pixel 4 XL for video calls and listening to music.

It is pretty much only with Teams that I am hearing the issues.  When making iPhone calls, listening to music or watching nextflix, they are fantastic.  I was going to return them but I really like the fit and everything else, but Teams calling.  I'm hopeful Microsoft will get this right.  We are pioneers here so I'm not too shocked that there are some issues.

I don't use Teams. I mostly listen to music and make regular phone calls. It's always there. The issue is so loud and noticeable always, it made me start this thread within hours of receiving the ear buds.

Add the very finicky pairing problem to the list of issues...
