Hello:

I have uninstalled the device drivers, the device itself, rebooted several times, and the camera still does not work.

I installed an external camera and it works fine

Any advice as to how to proceed

Thank you

    Hi PercyUI,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community and posting your inquiry.

This sounds like a camera app problem. We suggest the following:

    • Try resetting the Camera app, go to settings > apps & features > Camera > Advance Options > Reset then test and capture a photo.

    • Uninstalling and reinstalling the Camera app. Press Windows Key + R on your keyboard > Key in PowerShell and hit Enter > Right click on the PowerShell icon on the taskbar and select Run as Administrator > Now paste the following command in the Administrator: Windows PowerShell window and press Enter key:

    get-appxpackage *Microsoft.WindowsCamera* | remove-appxpackage

Wait for PowerShell to execute and complete the command. > Reinstall the Camera app, go to Microsoft Store > Search Camera > Install then test and capture a photo.

Please respond to this thread to let me know how the issue progresses. Similarly, if you have more questions, please inform me by replying to this post.

    Hello John

Thank you for your prompt reply. I was able to go through the outlined procedure successfully, however, it did not resolve the issue.

I rebooted the computer, and no luck. Again, I installed an external USB camera, and it worked.

The built in camera still does not work. Please advise.

    Thank you so much.

    Hi PercyUI,

Thank you for confirming. We would like to confirm the details below:

    • Do you see a LifeCam studio driver when going to the Device Manager?

    • Does the issue also happens to all other camera applications?

Please let us know about the issue by replying on the thread.

    Kind regards,

    John Neil_J
