Mmm, yes that might at least get some response - I have found that Dept of Fair Trading [NSW, which is where I live and from where I purchased this device] can be a bit hit and miss with larger corporations!! But certainly the device as sold and purchased no longer provides one of the basic features stated. I might have a go at that myself 👍
Surface Duo 2 tap to pay using Google Wallet stopped working
Tap to pay using Google wallet when connected to an approved credit card is no longer working. The issue presented in the last few days prior to the security update. I've used it flawlessly for many months on this phone and now it refuses to work, it simply vibrates when tapped to a terminal. Not sure if it's google or microsoft in this instance but it's unlikely my bank after having spoken to them it seems to be more likely one of the former. Other Duo owners are reporting the same issue. Note that my loyalty cards still function OK with NFC Google wallet. I'm in Australia.

2023-08-27T11:38:45+00:00 Let us know how you go! I tried that as the first thing, thinking it was a bad Google update of Google Wallet, before coming across this on Microsoft. Google pretended interest, that went as far as that crazy post a couple of days ago - hey, have you tried updating everything and restarting your device.

2023-08-27T11:49:33+00:00 I have both microsoft and google looking into it and both have been responsive, I've had about 3 phone calls from Microsoft but I'm not sure how far through the organisation the fault has gone. I can't do anything more for either, I've sent logs, tried a number of suggestions, they just need to have their engineers talk to each other now and fix it. I do think it might be a Google issue only due to my experience with it starting a few days prior to the last Microsoft security update.
