Surface Duo 2 tap to pay using Google Wallet stopped working

Tap to pay using Google wallet when connected to an approved credit card is no longer working. The issue presented in the last few days prior to the security update. I've used it flawlessly for many months on this phone and now it refuses to work, it simply vibrates when tapped to a terminal. Not sure if it's google or microsoft in this instance but it's unlikely my bank after having spoken to them it seems to be more likely one of the former. Other Duo owners are reporting the same issue. Note that my loyalty cards still function OK with NFC Google wallet. I'm in Australia.

    Thanks so much for informing this issue, we invite you to make sure that all your apps are up to date and then restart the device. To make sure all your apps are up to date follow these steps:

    1. Tap Play Store on your Home screen.
    2. At the top right, tap the profile icon.
    3. Tap Manage apps & device.
    4. If there are updates available tap Update all.
