Hi,
Until recently I had no issues in using Kinect v2 on my Surface Book computer. Suddenly, after last week Windows and Surface Book firmware updates Kinect is not recognized anymore.
My configuration: Surface Book, i5/256
Kinect connected on the USB3 port of Surface Book
Powered either directly or via docking station
Kinect service set to use Nvidia card
Once I connect the USB cable the following happens:
What did I try?
Any idea? I believe it has to do with latest Windows 10 updates, drivers and latest Surface Book update too. Thank you!
Kind regards,
Gia

@Dwight,
this Regitry Setting didn't fix the issue.
I use on my Surface Book Windows 10 Enterprise with Build 16299 (last Patchlevel) and have installed the last Surface Book Firmware.
Kinect Configuration Verifyer Shows only a warning on "USB 3.0 Driver" but "Verify Kinect Depth and Color Streams" Show that all fine.
The "3D Scan" App from Microsoft always Show "Depth sensor not found"
On my PC (non Microsoft Device) Kinect 3D scan works. So it's only a Surface Driver Problem.
I can not understand why Microsoft does not get compatibility with their own products.
The Surface is a very expensive device, but due to such compatibility issues, Microsoft's customers are forced to use other products without the "Microsoft Label".
@microsoft
This is really upsetting and disturbing.
I bought this Kinect three months ago and havent been able to do dev with it once on my Surface Book. Which was almost $4000.
And now I cant even return the kinect. Microsoft should take it back and refund me my money.
Totally unacceptable.
I completely agree, the same thing happened to us a year ago and we bought 2 surface books, i7, and Microsoft is a dead end who could care less that they are making incompatible broken hardware and software.... We should turn to Reddit to start a revolution! But really my money will speak louder than anything, we will not be Buying Microsoft hardware again unless absolutely forced too....like with windows....
end rant
