To isolate the issue between your Surface Book and Surface Pro 2, we would like to know if the Surface Pro 2 also have the same version of Kinect for Windows Runtime?

Hi,
Until recently I had no issues in using Kinect v2 on my Surface Book computer. Suddenly, after last week Windows and Surface Book firmware updates Kinect is not recognized anymore.
My configuration: Surface Book, i5/256
Kinect connected on the USB3 port of Surface Book
Powered either directly or via docking station
Kinect service set to use Nvidia card
Once I connect the USB cable the following happens:
What did I try?
Any idea? I believe it has to do with latest Windows 10 updates, drivers and latest Surface Book update too. Thank you!
Kind regards,
Gia

Hi Joseph
My Surface Pro 2 is running the same build as the Surface Book - Windows 10 Pro Version 1703 (OS Build 15063.332).
I also did try installing the Kinect for Windows Runtime on the Surface Book, but that made no difference.
Hello,
You mentioned that the Kinect works with your Surface Pro 2. Can you tell us the OS Build (of the Surface Pro 2) as well? Is it the same as your Surface Book?
As for everyone, can you confirm if the Kinect for Windows Runtime is updated? Let us know.
We'll be waiting for you response so we can add it to our report.
Regards.
Hi Brian
The system is a brand new Surface Book with performance base + Surface docking station.
The Kinect has never worked with this system.
I got the Kinect after I purchased the system so cannot comment if it previously worked, although reports in this forum clearly indicate it did work previously for others. (But as noted the Kinect does work with my old Surface Pro 2 and also works with my Xbox One S).
Other USB3 peripherals work fine.
I'm running Windows 10 Pro
Version 1703 (OS Build 15063.332)
Firmware and drivers and firmware are all up to date.
Hi Brian, Joseph,
thank you for looking into this.
The version I have now is: v1703 OS Build 15063.296
first time when I observed the issue was after the Windows Update v1607 and a Surface Book firmware update.
Kind regards,
Gia
