Pen taps registering as double clicks

I installed a pending driver update on my SP4 yesterday and the anniversary update today. Now tapping with the pen registers as a double-click about 10% of the time, which makes pen input pretty much useless. The usual calibration options and settings in Settings, Control Panel and the Surface app didn't have any effect on this. I tried manually installing the latest SP4 drivers (8/3) but that didn't change anything, either.

This is also noticeable when drawing a continuous line. The The pen is suddenly detected as not pressed, and immediately again as pressed.

Hey everyone,

I was like everybody, ever since I got my Surface Pro 4 my pen always randomly double-click while I tried to use touch keyboard.

So after I tried to search through all the forums and reddit. I stumbled into this site:

Basically it lets you re-calibrate your pen.

-Simply type "calibrate" into your search bar and choose "calibrate the screen for pen or touch input".

-Choose "Setup" to first reset your pen by clicking the screen when prompt one time, then press enter after that to return.

-Choose "Calibrate" and then "Pen input".

-Use the pen to tap on the cross-hair point at the corner of your screen (It's kinda hard to find, but just follow the line and you'll see them eventually.

-After you are done, choose "Save"

This basically solve the problem for me, so I hope this help the others who are looking for a solution as well :)

    This definitely isn't an isolated problem. It has also plagued me since the anniversary update. Almost deleted important emails because of this. Have lost my place in web browsers because it closed windows behind the one I was trying to close.

    I tried reinstalling firmware updates and the problem persists.

    Hello,

    If the issue still persist, visit the nearest Microsoft store. Staff will assist you on calibration and also, for them to check the Surface pen.

    1. I have the same issue with both of my Surface pens.
    2. Also, I'm not driving 120 miles each way for someone to check the driver versions on my tablet then tell me there's nothing else I can do.

    Soo let me  get this straight, those of us that have tolerated this problem since early July sshoulldd now just go  tto the Micrrosoft stoore and have them  calibrate our surfaces.

    Can yyouu give  some detaiill on the proccedure they wouuld do to calibbratte.

    what would they do diffeerenntt that we have nnot already tried.

    Yes thhis problemm exsists becausee Microsoft  has not fixed thhe problem yet!

    If you having trouble reaading this it is because I did not correct the ttyping so you can see an example of wwhat is hhappenning.

    As I said earlier, I already replaced my Surface Pro and the Pen.

    The new SP4 came with an older firmware and the pen worked normally (I was really excited at first), but after the firmware update, the double-clicking started again.
