Duo 2 Android 12L breaks calling

Since the Android 12L update, I have not been able to make or receive calls. Incoming goes straight to voicemail and outgoing immediately ends calls. Carrier is T-Mobile. I suspect the issue is the same at what happened with the AUS phones as listed here Android 12 Breaks Calls — ZenTalk (asus.com)

This required an update to get the calls working again. Is there such as update in the works as right now my due 2 is just a tablet that cannot make calls.

Everything else works btw even calls with WhatsApp and teams

It's been happening for over a month with no fix in sight. I use my Duo heavily for business and it needs to be reliable. Just ordered a Samsung S22 Ultra - I'm sad because I love the Duo but I have to have a device that works.

I have a similar problem because I also have an eSIM, but through T-Mobile. I bought an AT&T SIM card at Best Buy, turned off the eSIM, but got the same results as you.

I'm currently waiting for a physical SIM from T-Mobile in the mail. As recently as a couple of months ago I would just delete the eSIM and redownload it, but the T-Mobile website has that currently disabled. If you are confident you'll be able to redownload the eSIM, you could try that route.

I do not believe this would work with an esim. It is always loaded since Duo 2 supports dual Sim in an esim + physical Sim combination. The reason this works for physical Sim users is carrier provisioning overwrites the previous configuration on Sim changes. Loading a physical Sim does nothing to change the side by side esim carrier configuration.

I’m still having calling issues. I have an SD2 on Google Fi using the eSIM. I turned the phone off, inserted a Verizon SIM, made a phone call, turned off the phone, removed the Verizon SIM, turned the phone on and tried to make a phone call with Google Fi and it disconnects.
