Slow Wifi with brand new Surface Book 2!!!

I am so beyond disappointed!! I bought one of the most expensive versions of the Surface Book 2 (i7, 15 inches, 512 GB) and it its wifi connection is only half the speed of my old i5 and i3 laptops!!! IT IS UNACCEPTABLE for the price I paid (almost 3000 dollars for the computer, and if you add accessories and extended warranty, more than 3600!!).

I have tried everything: resetting the network, reinstalling the wireless adapter drivers, resetting windows from scratch...everything!. I have a 100 Mbps connection at home and all my laptops and smartphones get wifi speeds around 45-50 Mbps, but the SB2 gets 20 Mbps and most of the time it does not even get to 10 Mbps.

I have been reading many other testimonies online of people experiencing the same. I feel scammed. 

Not only that, it also seems that there is some kind of incompatibility with the design software I use (Sketchup and Vray). They work flawlessly in my older computers. They crash all the time with the Surface Book 2.

Seriously thinking about returning it. They pull you in with the shiny exterior, but it is a substandard product.

    Like everyone else on this thread I have also been having slow wifi issues with my brand new Surface Book 2. Also like everyone else my other devices (iphone 6, 2012 iMac, 2010 iPad!) do not have these issues on the same network. 

    Unfortunately for me none of the driver updates/re-installs/hacks fixed the problem - what did work was plugging in the power adapter. This is a very sketchy fix for a 2K laptop and it seems insane that Microsoft is ignoring fundamental flaws with their flagship device.

    Up until the wifi problems I had been really impressed with the Surface Book 2 yet it looks like I'll be returning it on Monday.

    I've been running into similar issues as well. My SB2 was SpeedTesting at 25Mbps while my iPhone 8 was SpeedTesting at ~400Mbps. While browsing around, I came across a fix that is currently working for me (we'll see for how long). Apologies if this was already mentioned, but I am not scrolling through a painful amount of pages just to see if someone has posted this already.

    1. Open Device Manager
    2. Scroll to the Controller for the Wireless AC card
    3. Right-click and select uninstall
    4. DO NOT delete the drivers
    5. Once that is done, right-click in Device Manager and select Scan for Hardware Changes
    6. Verify that the Wireless AC controller shows up again
    7. Retest your WiFi.

    Happy surfing.

    In addition to these steps do the following.  This helped my speeds greatly!

    7. Retest your WiFi

    1. Right click on the Marvel AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller and select Properties.
    2. Click on the Advanced tab
    3. Select the Band property then change the Value from Auto to either 2.4 GHz Only or 5 GHz Only depending on the connection to your WiFi router.  For me I have a Netgear Nighthawk X6 that offers both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi.  The two SSID's are named differently so I know that I'm connecting to the 5 GHz one.
    4. After selecting the Band value click OK and wait for the WiFi to reconnect.
    5. Retest your WiFi connection.  It should be way better.

    Again, all these steps we have to take to get faster WiFi speeds is ridiculous.  It should just work out of the box without any hassle.

    Also, not sure if working on different wifi bands to the US would explain why the problems disappear/reduce when I plug the power cable in?

    Fritz!Box appears to be from a German provider if Sebastian doesn't reply.
