Surface Earbuds has a static hissing sound in left ear when on video calls.

My main problem is that when I am using my Surface Earbuds with my Surface Book 2 and on video calls through Zoom there is a distinct static/hissing sound coming out of the left earbud when someone else is talking. The right earbud does not have this problem. When listening to music or making calls on my Galaxy S9+ I do not have this problem at all. The batteries have been fully charged before using them and I have also update the firmware to 3.0.0.5 which is the latest update available and still have this problem. When in a conference call the audio and mic are connected to Surface Earbuds Hands-Free AG Audio.

I am also experiencing a hissing while on calls. I have to lower the volume severely for me to not notice it. If I have audio around 50-60% the voice from a call sounds overblown and hisses. This also happens to me when I use Cortana. If I long press to use voice assistant Cortana sounds horrible, as if the sound was turned way up and her voice sounds distorted and overblown.

I reported this issue months ago but all I got was suggestions on how to factory reset the device and I did but it didn't fix anything. I noticed today there was a new update 3.0.0.6 but when I go to see what's new the Microsoft page it takes me to doesn't even show the latest update, it shows the previous one. Also, in the product page they lowered the amount of hours you can listen to on a single charge from 8 to 7 when using the latest update!

Didn't get the replacements because I wasn't paying the charge for replacements because of a nick I got on one earbud 2 months after reporting the issue. I'm sure it will fix the issue because other people I know that have them don't have the same issue.

Did the replacement fix the hissing problem during teleconferences (e.g. Zoom, Teams, Skype, ...) ?

I would recommend contacting Microsoft support as soon as possible and get a replacement set. It's a hardware defect not software. I say as soon as possible because if you accidently drop one and it gets any type of scratch or nick they will make you pay for a replacement pair. It's what they did to me even though I reported the issue on here 2 weeks after getting mine but I was unable to contact Microsoft support until 3 weeks ago, and because of the nick I got on one 3 days prior to talking to Microsoft support they won't replace mine without me paying for them.
