I have a surface duo 2 that I purchased about 6 months ago and I am quite used to it and like it - I get that it is not one big screen but 2 seperate ones that let me get more work done.

I have the bumpers, but I dropped it and it landed on the hinge end and cracked one screen. A repair by Microsoft costs $700. I see that the new ones are reduced by $1,100. Also, they have up to a $700 trade for some items. So it is cheaper to buy a new one and trade-in my old one.

Questions. 1. I can't see where to trade in a surface duo 2 - only a surface duo 1. How do I trade-in the Duo 2?

All surface duo's are out of stock. The $500 price drop and out of stock makes me feel like they are terminating the line. That worries me (I owned 2 invoke speakers, an HP EliteX3, etc - I feel like a sucker). Is Microsoft terminating the line?

I suspect Microsoft won't be accepting trades until a Surface Duo 3 is released. Hoping for you I'm wrong.

I have looked and they are starting to become available again. So, I don't think they are terminating the line. Now I just need to wait for Microsoft to accept a surface duo 2 as a trade in. $700 to fix the screen is too much. Only another $400 additional for a brand new one.

As an orphaned MS Phone x3, I have same concerns especially with out of stock and price drop.

Microsoft doesn't have a great track record in this respect. You are right that I haven't seen or heard a peep about terminating the Duo line. The Neo on the other hand looks DOA.

I was burned by the Invoke too. The three I have are now really good bluetooth speakers at least, and I ended up breaking even because I had bought them on sale and Microsoft gave a $50 rebate for each when the support ended.

I had a Lumia 950XL phone that still works even though Microsoft abandoned Windows Mobile. It still has an outstanding camera, especially for low-light shots, and way better than the Surface Duo. The Duo 2's camera is a big improvement, but low-light performance still needs to be better. Given how the GCAM app port does have improved low-light performance over the stock Microsoft Camera app, it appears software changes can enhance the low-light performance because the hardware seems adequate. Microsoft, are you working on this?
