Dear team,

I am trying to redirect webcam to remote desktop server.

Server side is window server 2016 RDS.
If client side is Win10 from note pc with Integrated Webcam, I did get success by “RemoteFX USB Redirection” or “RDP High-Level Device Redirection”.

If client side is Win10 from Microsoft surface go 3 with Intel(R) AVStream Camera 2500, I did not get success.

Did you have any advice to continue check?
Thanks for your valuable time.

    Dear Team

    thanks for your response.

Unfortunately, the problem is not solved yet.

the internal camera that is built into surface go 3 cannot be used by “RemoteFX USB Redirection” or “RDP High-Level Device Redirection”.

Could you please give some advice to make it possible?

    thanks for your continuous support.

We're sorry for the late response on this thread.

The AVStream Camera on the Surface Go 3 is a camera driver that enables the use of the camera on the device. It is a driver that is used to communicate with the camera hardware and provide an interface for applications to use the camera. On the other hand, an Integrated Webcam is the Internal camera that is built into a computer or laptop.

I hope this answer your queries.

    Dear Rodelio P.

    Thanks for prompt reply.

I have tried performing a reinstallation of AVStream Camera 2500 on Microsoft surface go 3.

The AVStream Camera 2500 is working and I can take a picture on Microsoft surface go 3.

But I can not use the camera by RemoteFX USB Redirection.

    • on surface go 3, AVStream Camera 2500 can not be identified as RemoteFX USB device on remote desktop as below. Could you please give me some advice for this.

    • on note pc, Integrated Webcam can be identified as RemoteFX USB device on remote desktop as below. Could you please give some information about difference between AVStream Camera on surface go 3 and Integrated Webcam on note pc.

    thanks in advance.

    Hi Chris_133!

Thanks for reaching Microsoft Community. We're here to help and let's work on this together.

I understand you're having an issue with the camera on your Surface Go 3. Happy to help and provide more options here.

To further isolate the issue please allow us to ask a few questions.

    • Could you please send us a screenshot or photo of the error.
    • Have you tried performing a reinstallation of the drivers already? If not kindly follow instructions below:
    1. On the search bar, search for Device Manager.
    2. Open device manager and expand arrow next to camera.
    3. Right click on camera driver and select Uninstall.
    4. On top view of device manager, go to action and select scan for hardware changes.

After following the steps above, please force shut down and restart your device by pressing and holding the power button for 20 seconds and releasing it once the Windows logo is already displayed.

Please let us know how it goes. We look forward to hearing from you.

    Greetings,

    RodelioP.
