Surface Laptop Studio will not charge occasionally / depletes battery at alarming rate.

Every once in awhile my Surface Laptop Studio will refuse to charge - or atleast it says it's charging but clearly isn't. The battery then depletes at a rate of almost 1% every minute until in shuts off at 0%. Then I have to repeatedly restart it, plug in charging cable, for almost an hour to get it to start charging again. This isn't a charger issue. This is possibly some odd software issue.

Why Microsoft wants be to make a post instead of talking to an employee is beyond me.

Thank you for your patience and feedback as we worked on this. A fix is now available through Windows Update. After installing the update, please restart (not Shutdown) your Surface Laptop Studio. If the issue continues to occur, here is a workaround that has helped others start charging again:

Connect your Surface power supply and make sure the power connector light is on.
Save all your work and shutdown your Surface.
Once shutdown, press and hold down the power button, you will see the Windows logo screen flash and then turn off, continue to hold down the power button (about 20 seconds) until you see the Windows logo screen flash again and then release the power button.

And I have the same issue too. Except, for fun, I've gone through 3 power cords. My surface studio is a few months old, power cord light is on but battery not charging. Ran out of juice while trying to download updates. Took it to Best Buy and their power cord at the counter charged it back up. So, bought another cord, since that appeared to be the problem. However, they didn't have 102 W which came with the laptop but rather 65 W. Since I was desperate, I bought it for $100! Power cord is considered an "accessory" and not covered by warranty... ??? Then I started getting a message saying the new cord (MS product) was "slow charging" and to get original wattage. Went to Amazon and found a 102 W charger for $30!!. Was going to return the 65 W to Best Buy today and again the same problem. Charge not taking. Tried all 3 cords, original, 65W and 102W replacements and no go. I'm downloading new BIOS as per instructions here but I'm guessing I'm going to run out of battery before I get to install. Just thought I would share my experience to save all the trouble and frustration of messing with the power cords. I'm out of

I too am having this issue. It started on the first day of using this brand-new laptop, 2 weeks ago. The only thing that fixes it is to restart by resetting the device. Unacceptable for a brand new $2,500 device.

I have the very same issue. This is very concerning. Having purchased such an advanced laptop this is clearly not acceptable. I cannot have my laptop show this behaviour and cannot be exposed to this. If there is no prompt resolution for this, I will probably have to get rid off this laptop and switch to another brand. Bad, bad.

I have the same issue.

I tried to reinstall the battery drivers.

It helped one time. The next time it did not help.

I tried all the other options. ANd it did not help.

Dear Microsoft, do something with this!!!
