What I found with 2 failed devices is that using a docking station or keeping it plugged in to AC for extended periods stresses the smaller of 2 batteries located in the clipboard portion, behind the screen. There is a way to set the clipboard battery to charge to only 50% (google it), which still gives 85% total battery capacity overall. Since I changed my setting, everything has been fine for about 18 months on m replacement Surface Book.
Surface 4 Pro screen bulging at lower left edge and separated from the frame
I have a Surface 4 Pro that I purchased in March 2016. Over the last few days, I was seeing a considerable color bleed on lower left edge of the screen. Then I stared noticing that that type cover does not seem to close flat against the screen. On closer inspection, I found that the screen is bulging (curving out) on the lower left side and the screen edge has separated from the frame, exposing a gap, Some of the circuitry inside seems to be pushing out as well from what I can see through the gap, indicating something inside is exerting an outward pressure. I pushed the screen back in and with a little pressure it got flattened. However, after a few minutes use, the screen bulged out again. There is no physical damage to the screen, the bezel or the device in general, no cracks or scratches.
What is causing this and what is a possible solution?
Thanks,
Deepak

2021-08-12T13:49:06+00:00 Great to see someone with a possible solution RobertGraban; great pity MS didn't work that out long before so many of us found their Surface Pro screens expanding and dying with no recourse from the manufacturer. Well done, hope it continues working for you. Personally MS hardware will never see the inside of my credit card ever again!!

Do we have any leads for the global revocation against Microsoft on the legal front where the customers can signup a petition.
I prefer to join the same purpose than supporting small petitions. the volume of unsatisfied consumers against Microsoft shall teach them a lesson, though MS seems to be shameless about their product responsibility.

2021-09-03T13:14:04+00:00 Wow,
You are lucky to get a Surface Pro that worked for 5 years.
I got 5 surface replacement in 5 years for various troubles including the peeled off screen due to expanded battery.
All surfaces sold in the market are technically faulty products. Major design flaw.
Now my new surface Pro replacement received 6 months back has refused to go beyond the start-up windows logo post last update.
Microsoft has clearly refused to serve since its out of 90 days warranty.
We need to take MS legally against this cheating business.
One can understand the time of wait wasted in getting service calls and further replacement receipt every year. Technically I wasted the value for 5 months of usage every year.
SURFACEPRO seems to be a subscription product with extremely expensive price tag, suggest one should buy 2 of them so that at least one would be working when you really desperately need to use it.
