Surface 4 Pro screen bulging at lower left edge and separated from the frame

i got a new device (which i need to pay for), and after 5 days a stain on the display came up again. Now they ask me to return this one and get a replacement. Means disaster !!!

They are supposed to be offering a SP5 instead of a SP4 now for this price. Call

back, ask for a manager, and let us know?

I was informed I would need to pay 481€ before tax for my replacement of my 3.5 year old SP4. This is still steep, even for an SP5, that only has a warranty for 90 days. 

If you have anybody‘s ear at Microsoft...a more reasonable offer would be a substantial discount on a new SP that would have a 3 year warranty for this issue. 

The current offer on the table from them is not helpful at all.

Sadly no. I bought it Dec 2015 and did notice screen distortion early 2018 so just over 2 yrs later.  However since I generally used it with a second larger screen it didn't bother me. Then later that year (so still inside the 3 years) it began to annoy me a little and I wished I had pursued the issue then, but sadly I didn't.  In early 2019 I realised the screen had stated to detach from the casing and it was getting warmer than usual.  I let it cool down with the screen clamped down through books and found it had restuck itself.  Success !

Not for long though as every few days it would bulge out again to the point where I could see components inside.  I was using another screen again so hoped that wouldn't make it worse and just before it actually died altogether, I went online searching for screen bulging issues and founds heaps of it and eventually ended up on here with so many other, one time MS Surface Pro fans, now turned frustrated and disappointed owners of a useless product.

Can understand many of the comments above too, about whether to accept a replacement unit that, unless some sort of guarantee is offered, the same problem is going to arise as it appears to me, at least, that MS have NOT fixed the battery issue at all.

The fact that they offer a replacement for around £450 or Euros or US$, etc, complete with a 3 month guarantee, does not fill me with hope or any assurance the product will last for at least 12 months.

No, having had friends ask me and even random people come up to me in airport lounges, etc, and ask is that a Surface Pro and what are they like etc, where I would happily extoll its virtues of portability and versatility I have sadly, had to walk away from the once beautiful product and become an ex advocate of the Surface Pro. 

Essentially, until MS offer this product with at least 5 years on the battery and screen I will never buy one again.  End of story.

If anyone needs assurance as to longevity of products look in your home/work office or store room where your old laptops lie and see how many of your past products from Dell, Asus, Toshiba, IBM, etc, have warped screens and duff batteries; answer none/very few!!

i have a sp4, and after the battery bulge, i took a replacement device for 480 €. the battery in the old device burned the charger, as did the output for the Hdmi cable. I want to say that for these € 480 I got the same device that I paid € 2499 3 years ago. Eventually, I measured all the components in the unit, and found that they were damaged. Can you imagine?

was your surface book under warranty?
