Surface 4 Pro screen bulging at lower left edge and separated from the frame

I have a Surface 4 Pro that I purchased in March 2016. Over the last few days, I was seeing a considerable color bleed on lower left edge of the screen. Then I stared noticing that that type cover does not seem to close flat against the screen. On closer inspection, I found that the screen is bulging (curving out) on the lower left side and the screen edge has separated from the frame, exposing a gap, Some of the circuitry inside seems to be pushing out as well from what I can see through the gap, indicating something inside is exerting an outward pressure. I pushed the screen back in and with a little pressure it got flattened. However, after a few minutes use, the screen bulged out again. There is no physical damage to the screen, the bezel or the device in general, no cracks or scratches.

What is causing this and what is a possible solution?

Thanks,

Deepak

MS only response to pro 4 issue after there is an arising class action against them, do you still have faith to buy another MS product without worrying another issue will be ignored by them unless you take into court?

If anyone has had this issue in the UK, then apparently there is a consumer law that might be of use, rather than explain, https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/consumer-rights-refunds-exchange/ Apple even refer to it on their own pages https://www.apple.com/uk/legal/statutory-warranty/

So the key parts are, covered from 6 years from date of purchase if it's a manufacturing or design issue, but you have to prove that it is. Just printing out these 22 pages would probably get you a win.

Does this battery/screen separation issue only limited to the SP4 and SP Pro?  does it affect other platforms such as 3/6/7?

When it first happened i got a jittery screen and thought it might be a software issue. I called and they said nothings wrong. Then after 2m, the case opened, and i brought bring it into a MS store (nyc), and they looked at it and manager said with a straight face, u probably dropped it or did something. Nothings wrong, we have nothing about that in our database and it still works. Too bad u are out of warranty.  What bs. Turns out there were then already thousands of similar complaints.

That price is likely significantly higher than the market value of a 3rd party reconditioned unit, and did they tell u the warranty is  not extended, and there's been no upgrade or fix of the battery, so u run a risk of it reoccurring? Ridiculous.

Switch to apple pros - much better performance and experience. I did, and just give up on ms.  Remember their phone and zune their ipod clone? Good ideas but they managed to screwed them up. I did tried to reason with them extensively, but it's hopeless.  Wasted thousands on pro 3 and 4 and accessories.

    I should have but didnt

Googled surface problems and not rely on fanboys reviews.

Google "consumer Reports surface not recommended" 25%, highest of all , of 40,000 surveyed in 2017 have complaints in first 2 years, and that doesn't even include this issue!

What an unethical co. So sad.

I am also pi**ed off.  I just contacted MS tech support, the rep I chat with was still willing to replace with identical config (i5/8GB/256GB) for $450, due to warranty expired Jul 2020, but he still needed to escalate to the management team and would get back to me by Monday which I doubt I would hear back from him again.  They sounded nice and professional, but usually just blah blah blah, once they get disconnected, they don't respond anymore, my experience.
