File a review of the faulty product at consumerreports.org, too. If nothing else, perhaps we can keep other consumers from getting burned like we did.
Surface 4 Pro screen bulging at lower left edge and separated from the frame
I have a Surface 4 Pro that I purchased in March 2016. Over the last few days, I was seeing a considerable color bleed on lower left edge of the screen. Then I stared noticing that that type cover does not seem to close flat against the screen. On closer inspection, I found that the screen is bulging (curving out) on the lower left side and the screen edge has separated from the frame, exposing a gap, Some of the circuitry inside seems to be pushing out as well from what I can see through the gap, indicating something inside is exerting an outward pressure. I pushed the screen back in and with a little pressure it got flattened. However, after a few minutes use, the screen bulged out again. There is no physical damage to the screen, the bezel or the device in general, no cracks or scratches.
What is causing this and what is a possible solution?
Thanks,
Deepak

2020-07-24T03:05:54+00:00 Yes, please, everyone who has any MS product with a bulging, ready to explode battery, file a report with the federal Consumer Product Safety Commission. I filed a report a couple of months ago, and in the last couple of weeks heard back from the CPSC that they'd sent my report to Microsoft. I don't expect any favorable resolution, but I do feel much better that I told the feds that Microsoft doesn't care if its products harm or kill its consumers. The more reports we harmed consumers file, the more MS might open its eyes. Please, do something that could help future MS consumers. It's easy.

2020-07-09T18:46:20+00:00 So having the same issue. I went to all the trouble to have a kiosk installed to protect my device at work. I also purchased the extended warranty which of course expired. Microsoft is NOT honoring any replacement even though this is a KNOWN DEVICE FAILURE. They recommended I buy a new device and assured me that the battery won't actually explode. Well something is sure expanding inside my device as the screen has now lifted 1/4 inch and the pressure is pushing it to come right off. If I mistreated my device I could understand but to have a known failure issue that was not addressed is pretty poor customer relations.

2020-07-03T18:38:00+00:00 Are you still within the warranty or out of warranty?
I do not have a Surface Pro 4 with this condition, but I have had three (3) Surface Book 1's with the condition. Unfortunately, all have been out of warranty. I've come to the conclusion the root cause of the problem seems to be my docking station / power supply. On the latest, my wife used the SB1 for 5 years with out problems. When my second surface book bulged (replacement of the first bulging), I couldn't get anywhere with Microsoft during the COVID-19 shutdown, so I bought a Samsung laptop for my wife and repurposed her Surface Book 1 to my docking station. Within 2 months, this one had a bulging screen the same as the first two!
It is quite disheartening to see that Microsoft is having the same problem with the Surface Pro 4, which uses the same type docking station, interchangeable with my Surface Book 1. Interestingly, when I asked about the docking station being the potential cause, Microsoft sent me a docking station at no charge, with no reluctance, even though it was out of warranty, which tells me they might know something about this power supply. Unfortunately, they sent me the replacement docking station, but not the power supply that powers the computer through it.

2020-06-29T00:59:23+00:00 I just posted about this same issue with my Surface Pro 4. I've been trying to contact Microsoft with no luck whatsoever - anyone in Australia had a favourable response from MS here?
