Surface 4 Pro screen bulging at lower left edge and separated from the frame

I have a Surface 4 Pro that I purchased in March 2016. Over the last few days, I was seeing a considerable color bleed on lower left edge of the screen. Then I stared noticing that that type cover does not seem to close flat against the screen. On closer inspection, I found that the screen is bulging (curving out) on the lower left side and the screen edge has separated from the frame, exposing a gap, Some of the circuitry inside seems to be pushing out as well from what I can see through the gap, indicating something inside is exerting an outward pressure. I pushed the screen back in and with a little pressure it got flattened. However, after a few minutes use, the screen bulged out again. There is no physical damage to the screen, the bezel or the device in general, no cracks or scratches.

What is causing this and what is a possible solution?

Thanks,

Deepak

    Frankly I am astonished.

A "quick" reading of the preceding 28 pages reveals torrents of abuse heaped on MS and the Surface Pro overheating issue over a long period of time. Sadly with ZERO recognition from MS themselves (and it is their forum and I assume they read this stuff....??)

That anyone would even think they might replace it for free, yes astonished me. If they do (yeah right) then good on you. I wouldn't take bets tho. No way.

Yes it was a damn good product; and then it wasn't. Furthermore the manufacturer couldn't give a flying stuff about the users (again, see preceding 28 pages...). So I still use MS software but not your hardware. Never will again. You burnt this customers hand MS (figuratively - otherwise it would have made a great lawsuit) and you wont be doing that gain.

    Good luck

Yea. Just feel as consumer we are being bullied by large company like Microsoft. THere are many people that went through it. That is so sad. Hope they are all ok.

I hear what you're saying, but I would expect a better product from Microsoft. I have an Apple tablet, and it's older than my SP4 and I do not see poor manufacturing of their product. I don't understand why someone would need to swap for a new PC every 3-5 years unless you are gaming. What student or office worker needs to swap out PCs that often. Major corporations may lease their laptops, which is different, but small to mid-cap companies don't really need to swap out their laptops unless their IT infrastructure demands it. Cell phones are another example, why get a new phone if the one you currently have works? If you are a gadget nerd (nothing wrong with being a nerd) then ok that's different. Same with tablets and PCs, no need to swap unless software solutions require it. Eh, either way, they have a nice product, but it's cheaply made so they can reel you in to buy the next version just like printers.

I don't agree...like cars, once out of warranty, unless warranted by a class action lawsuit, they don't suppose to have a "forever" life. I rotate PCs every 3-5 years which is reasonable life. After that, manufacturing capabilities for that device has long been retooled for a newer version so they operate off refurbished and trade in inventory, then that's it.

I'd agree if it was still under warranty...
